Cassis Design

  • During my time at Cassis I had the pleasure of working with:

    • Avalign Technologies

    • Blowout Golf

    • Drainage Solutions

    • Miller & Martin, PLLC

    • Radiology of Indiana

    • Salon01

    • Front-End Languages: HTML/CSS, PHP, Javascript

    • Adobe Create Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

    • Website Builders: Wordpress, Drupal7, 3dcart, BigCommerce

I worked at Cassis Design (a firm in Carmel, IN) for around 9 months during my gap year. I had taken some time off from university after realizing that I wasn’t in love with my major, and wanted to find out what I was passionate about. After discovering Cassis I fell in love with design, and began my journey into becoming a developer.

This page will cover some highlights from my time at Cassis Design. Due to client privacy rights, I will not share code, nor mockups that were not approved for final design by the client.

Blowout Golf is an e-commerce website, designed to be a place for golf fans to purchase branded items. This website was one of my first experiences handling a large database of commerce items as I aided in transferring the site from BigCommerce to 3dcart. This project was a solo project that I worked on for the firm.

Some duties included:

  • Designing a sandbox version of the site utilizing UX design principles to uphold aesthetics and usability

  • Organizing inventory with the drop shipping company to maintain accurate inventory reports on the website

  • Writing SQL statements to organize data categories to enable seamless migration

  • Operate QA testing to ensure functionality

Drainage Solutions works tirelessly to provide plumbing and irrigation tools to Indiana. With four offices across Indiana, they are one of the largest suppliers in their industry. When I was brought onto the team they were in the midst of a redesign. My initial mockup was chosen by the client to be iterated into a final design.

Some duties included:

  • Overseeing changes to the final design of the webpage, and working with developers to build the front-end

  • Choosing images for the website, and organizing the photo grid on the home page

  • Creating monthly e-blasts in MailChimp based on Google Analytic trends for popular products

  • Utilize SEO analytics to create compelling content for the website, and retain and grow the customer base

  • Design signage for the physical locations, and ensure ideal placement for maximum visibility from nearby roads/highways

Miller & Martin is a law firm that operates out of four offices, across three states. During my time at Cassis, we worked on implementing plans for phase 2 of a redesign. This included an overhaul of the home page, content pages for articles on the site, as well as the attorney profile pages. This opportunity was one of the first times I had worked in a website not created in a site builder.

Some duties included:

  • Photoshopping out the background of attorney images to create uniformity across the website

  • Embedding code elements, such as the COVID-19 banner on the home page. This was linked to their resources page

  • Running monthly QA testing to ensure the site was running as expected

  • Cleaning out bugs and junk code, as well as checking for any virus or malicious attacks

Radiology of Indiana

Radiology of Indiana is the largest client I have worked with. The site was built in WordPress, and our team maintained logins for Clients, Physicians, and Technicians.

Some duties included:

  • Creating media content which was posted to a variety of platforms via Hootsuite

  • Interacting with the Google reviews to post pre-approved responses in regards to questions and concerns

  • Running weekly QA testing to ensure the site was running smoothly, and clearing cache to maintain website speed
